Alocasia Black Velvet Pink Variegated sets luminous colour against one of the darkest canvases in the genus. Stunning velvety leaves deepen towards near-black green, then break into flashes, marbling and sectors of cream, white and blushing pink. Care
Place in bright, indirect light to support balanced growth and visible colour, while protecting the velvety foliage from harsh direct sun. Pale variegated areas can scorch more readily than green tissue. Water when the top 5cm of compost has dried, then allow excess water to drain completely. Keep warm, away from cold draughts, and provide medium to high humidity with gentle airflow. Use an open, free-draining, peat-free aroid mix.
This is a young living plant. Natural colour, form and variegation will continue to change as it develops. Minor cosmetic marks on an older leaf do not necessarily affect the health of the plant and will be shown clearly in the photographs and specimen notes.
