Plant type: Live variegated aroid houseplant with scalloped, arrow-shaped foliage.

Growing location: Indoors in bright, indirect light with steady warmth and humidity.

A rare Alocasia loved for unique patterns and splashes of pink, white and cream variegation. It's deeply scalloped edges and textured marbling earn it a place amongst the most treasured of aroids.

Polly belongs to the cultivated Amazonica group. Its foliage is broader and more heavily shaped at the edges than Bambino’s narrow arrowheads, giving the plant a fuller outline.

The original Polly was selected as a compact sport of Alocasia 'Amazonica' and is recorded in the International Aroid Society's cultivar registry as released in 1996. Despite the Amazonica name, this is a horticultural hybrid group with Asian parent species.

Plant Care Guide:

Light: Provide bright, indirect light and protect the pale sections from harsh sun. A well-lit position is preferable to a deeply shaded corner, particularly on plants carrying a large amount of pale foliage.

Water: Keep the root zone lightly moist, allowing the upper layer to begin drying before watering again. Water thoroughly and drain completely. Reduce the frequency in cooler or darker conditions rather than letting the pot remain continuously wet.

Humidity: Aim for around 60–80% with gentle air circulation. Avoid placing it in dry air from heating vents or moving it abruptly from a humid cabinet into an unconditioned room.

Temperature: A practical indoor target is 18°C to 27°C. Protect the plant from cold draughts and avoid prolonged temperatures below 15°C.
