Plant type: Live climbing Monstera foliage houseplant with pale variegation.
Growing location: Indoors in bright, indirect light, with shelter from cold draughts and support as it climbs.
A show stopping and a highly sought-after Monstera admired for its stunning white and green variegation. Its large exotic variegated leaves display albo marbling, sectoral variegation, and bold splashes of white and cream making every plant completely one of a kind. The name is widely associated in cultivation with Japanese grower Kunzo Nishihata.
Pale emerging foliage is part of White Monster’s fascination. Cream and white give way to a more finely mottled balance of green as a leaf matures, creating a changing display that reveals new detail as each blade opens and hardens.
Its climbing habit brings increasing scale to the foliage. Rounded juvenile leaves develop into the larger, split and perforated blades associated with mature Monstera deliciosa, carrying the intricate pattern into a bold architectural display.
Plant Care Guide:
Light: Provide bright, indirect light to support the pale foliage. A generously lit position with protection from harsh direct sun gives the plant a strong foundation for growth.
Water: Allow the upper mix to partially dry and the pot to become lighter before watering thoroughly. Check that the lower mix is no longer saturated, then let excess water drain completely.
Humidity: Aim for around 60–75% with gentle air circulation. Raise low humidity gradually and allow the leaves to dry freely after wetting.
Temperature: Enjoys steady warmth around 18°C to 29°C. Protect the roots and leaves from cold draughts and chilly windowsills.
